Mr. Ramesh Maini
Mr. Ramesh Maini has served as the President since Zentech’s inception more than 35 years ago, and is one of the founding partners. He has substantial experience in the design, construction supervision and rig moves of jackup drilling rigs. He was the principal architect in the design and construction of the jackups “Dyvi Beta” and “Dyvi Gamma” for Norwegian drilling contractor Dyvi A/S, which in 1977 were the largest jackups capable of operating in the North Sea.
He was also responsible for the engineering and construction of two new mat-supported jackup drilling rigs, which are presently operating in the Gulf of Mexico and offshore Angola. As President of Zentech, Ramesh has been involved with major design modifications and enhancement of over 100 jackup drilling rigs, MOPUs and MSVs.
Dr. S. Rao Guntur
Dr. S. Rao Guntur is the Executive Vice President and one of the founding partners of Zentech. He has vast experience in the design, analysis and software development for offshore and onshore oil & gas vessels/structures. In addition, he has extensive experience the design of mooring systems, riser analysis and on-board load and stability tools for offshore vessels. Dr. Guntur has been actively involved in the design of offshore drilling rigs, platforms and support vessels using sophisticated analytical tools. He has worked with the ships, Jack-up and semisubmersible drilling rigs.
He has worked on piping flexibility analysis and marine pipe-laying analysis and design. He directs Zentech’s proprietary tools to enhance the life of existing offshore platforms using Risk Based Analysis and Inspection™ (RBI) techniques. Dr. Guntur also has management responsibility for the India and Mexico offices.
Mr. Sonny Nejad
Mr. Sonny Nejad is the Vice President of Structural Engineering Services for Zentech, and one of the founding partners. He has made major contributions to the oil and gas industry toward development of computer programs for analysis and design of offshore structures/vessels including static, wave dynamics, wind, seismic, machine vibration, blast, pile-soil-structure interaction, non-linear push over, simplified and detailed fatigue, and API punching shear calculations.
He is intimately familiar with the application of a wide range of analytical tools including general purpose finite element programs for design of offshore structures and leads a large group of Structural Engineers at Zentech in design modifications to existing drilling rigs and also the new build design of drilling rigs which are developed by Zentech.
He is also responsible for Zentech’s liaison with the Class Societies for submittal and receipt of Class approvals. He holds a Master of Science and a Bachelor of Science in Structural Engineering.
Dr. Partha Chakrabarti
Dr. Partha Chakrabarti serves as the Vice President of Engineering at Zentech. His responsibilities include leading a team for the design, engineering and technology development of floating and fixed structures, preparation of proposals and client liaison. Dr. Partha has over 45 years of professional experience, 40 of which are in the offshore oil and gas industry.
During the past several years, he has led the Zentech design group in performing analysis and design of jackup rigs, semisubmersibles, barges and other floating structures such as TLPs and SPARs. He also directs the team performing fatigue, seismic, pushover and finite element analysis, dynamic analysis of flexible and rigid risers, motion and mooring analysis of floating structures. In previous positions, Dr. Chakrabarti designed a number of fixed offshore platforms for processing, drilling, flaring and as living quarters facilities. He is a Member of the ASCE, a Chartered Engineer and a Fellow of the Institute of Marine Engineers, U.K.
